Lynn formed the firm in 1993 and has been providing clients with tax and accounting services and consultation in the region for over 40 years.
After earning a BS in Biology and realizing he did not want to be a forest ranger, work at Sea World, or teach high school biology, Lynn worked in the construction field. It was during his construction years that he became passionate about starting his own business, although he thought it would be a construction firm. He knew some additional accounting training was required which meant he would have to go back to school. He eventually an earned an MBA with a concentration in finance and small business. Now what to do with this education? Construction was out since his graduation occurred right smack in the middle of a recession, so he then took a position in Keene at a large regional CPA firm. Finally, the opportunity presented itself to start his own CPA firm and really brand it with a strong desire to truly make a difference for the businesses, individuals, and non-profit organizations in the region.
Lynn is a member of the AICPA and the New Hampshire Society of CPAs. He has served on numerous nonprofit boards and is a longtime member of the Keene Lions Club. Lynn currently sits on the board of directors of the Savings Bank of Walpole.
Lynn resides in Swanzey with his wife Lynne and their two highly trained attack dogs.

Like most aspects of our lives the past month has proven to be an unprecedented time for all of us; tax season is no different. We wanted to reach out to you to review how we will be working over the next few months to handle and navigate this complex extended tax season period. Please bear with us and review this entire notice because we have a lot of information to communicate.
We sent out a letter to all clients on March 12th detailing our response to the current COVID-19 global pandemic. Due to recent school closings and other rapidly changing events and directives from government agencies we are updating our firm’s response plan. Beginning March 17th we are allowing all staff to work remotely and as a result, will be available in person by appointment only and therefore the office will be closed to the public. We are asking everyone to make every effort possible to work with us remotely. We are here to walk you through doing so and will continue to answer all calls during normal business hours: Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM and Saturday 8AM-12PM. We feel this is the socially responsible approach to take for our staff, clients, and the community. Please be mindful that many of our staff have school-aged children and will require some flexibility.
Rust & Company CPAs is excited to announce the recent launch of our firm’s new website. We’ve been working very hard to enhance our website and give our firm a fresh look.
